Pauline Anne Bishop, age 92, formerly of Santa Maria, CA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Vacaville, CA, after a brief illness. She lived her life as a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Pauline was born March 5, 1934, in Manchester, England, United Kingdom,
to the late Osmund George and Norah Farrell.
As a young adult, Pauline was lively, determined to travel and succeed, with an affinity for couture. In 1955,
she moved to New Jersey at 21 years of age to make a new life in the United States with her beau,
and soon to be husband Cliff, also from Manchester.
Pauline and Cliff married later that year.
The family later moved to California’s San Francisco Bay Area in 1973.
In 1985, Pauline and Cliff moved to their long-time home of Santa Maria, CA,
but not before Pauline earned her BS in Business Administration from
San Francisco State University the year before.
In fact, Pauline was a lifelong learner, earning her Master of Arts Degree in Psychology at the age of 63.
She then earned her license in marriage and family therapy in 2005.
Her senior career was spent as a therapist and professor at Allan Hancock College.
In her late years, Pauline made one last move back to Northern California to be close to her family.
She spent her final months enjoying the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She also enjoyed reading, art classes, and attending weekly catholic mass.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clifford “Cliff” Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Anthony Farrell, and sister, Barbara Mary Miller.
Pauline is survived by her two grandsons, Adrian Obando and his wife, Kimberly of Vacaville, CA;
Andrew Obando and his wife, Laura, of Fairfield, CA;
and four great grandchildren; Isabel, Maisie, Samantha, and Ozias.
Scripture Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 31, 2026
in the Chapel of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the south lawn of the Santa Maria Cemetery.
