Andrew David Biorn, 97, of Santa Maria, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Born on July 23,1929, David lived a full and meaningful life defined by dedication to his country, his work, and his family. He proudly served his country for three years in the United States Navy before embarking on a career with the telephone company, where his steady dedication spanned over 35 years.
Outside of work, David was a man of precise craftsmanship and simple pleasures. He loved spending time in his shop, where he spent countless hours building beautiful model ships with his loyal dog by his side. When he wasn't creating in his shop, he could often be found enjoying a game of lawn bowling.
David's greatest legacy remains his extensive and loving family. He is survived by his four children: Andrew Biorn, Brenda Stott, Geri Galloway, and Kelly Stringham. He also leaves behind a proud lineage of 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Geraldine Biorn, as well as his sister, Betty Lou Butler, and his brother, Merlin Paul Biorn.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026
in the Santa Maria Cemetery, Southlawn.
