Eleanor DeLaurentis, 88, was born in her mother’s bedroom in Bordentown NJ.
She was the youngest of 10 children.
She moved to California in 2000, following the loss of her husband of 38 years, Robert DeLaurentis. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Jr. and Andrew, and two grandchildren, Morgan and Savannah. She has a large extended family, including dozens of nieces and nephews, and friends all over the country.
Eleanor is probably best known as one of the smiling faces at the satellite post office formerly in Ace Hardware in Orcutt. She was an active volunteer in the Foster Grandparent’s Program, helping children to read in classrooms throughout the Orcutt School District.
Most recently she volunteered her time assisting adults with disabilities.
Eleanor was a very active member of the St. Louis de Montfort Parish.
She had the voice of an angel, and loved her time singing in the church choir.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Louis de Montfort Church. Services will be streamed live online at
https://sldm.org/live/. Interment is planned for the Central Coast Military Cemetery in Seaside CA at a future date.
