Martha San Agustin, beloved wife and mother, passed away on January 2, 2026 in Santa Maria at the age of 78.
Martha was born in Oakland, CA on November 3, 1947 to John and Mary Ella Gonzalez, a naval family that eventually settled in Oxnard, CA. It was at a dance at the nearby Port Hueneme's Naval Base where Martha met her future husband, Ricardo. After accompanied overseas tours and having two children, the family moved to Santa Maria in 1973 and made the town their permanent home. Following her husband's passing in 1982, Martha's love, strength and generosity to her children was unwavering. She then began working as a Student Supervision Aide for Santa Maria-Bonita School District, which she continued as for over 35 years.
In her spare time, Martha enjoyed gardening, music and classic cars. She also had a great love and compassion for all animals--especially her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo, and her son, Richard. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth, and her son-in-law, Guy.
