Pedro “Peter” Loya Rodriguez, 86, of Santa Maria, California passed away on April 10, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.
Peter was a man of integrity whose work ethic and mischievous wit was second to none. His love for his family was unmistakable as he never missed his grandkid’s sporting events and worked side by side with his son Mark until his passing.
Born in Santa Maria, California on March 8,1940 to parents Pete Rodriguez and Ramona Loya. Peter is one of five siblings. He served as artillery in the National Guard in 1958 and lived his life on the Central Coast. After a career of trimming trees and serving the Santa Maria community, you’d often see Pete cruising down Broadway in a white Central City Tree and Landscape Services truck most likely en route to La Simpatia for a Chile relleno. Peter’s long hair and beard were his signature look that only changed in color as he aged. Peter’s family will forever remember his love, support and care.
Peter is survived by his sons Mark Anthony Rodriguez & Martin Guzman, Daughter in law Patricia Rodriguez, grandchildren Sierra Rodriguez, Alexandria Rodriguez, Faviana Rodriguez, Mark Anthony Rodriguez Jr., great granddaughter Solène Rodriguez and his siblings Ruben Rodriguez, and Mary Ellen Marufo.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Connie Rodriguez, Gloria Rodriguez, Herminia Pacheco and Dolores Lemos.
To the greatest of all time, you will forever be in our hearts and missed beyond words.
