Dave Mastropieri, 79, a longtime resident of Santa Maria, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, following a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease, at the Atterdag Care Center in Solvang, CA, with his wife Nancy at his side.
Dave was born on August 14, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, to David T. and Ruth Mastropieri. He attended Westchester High School, graduating in 1964. Dave subsequently attended UCLA as well as a trade school to train for a career in computer technology, and his successful career spanned nearly five decades.
Dave’s personal life was equally full. He and wife Cathleen welcomed son Tim in 1976. A devoted father, Dave and Tim spent many hours together in various activities over the years, including Little League, Boy Scouts, and on the golf course. Dave was a lifelong Dodgers fan, an avid motorsports fan—particularly of NHRA drag racing, and loved playing poker with his buddies. Later in life Dave found a great love and partner in Nancy to whom he was married for nearly 26 years, from 2000 until the time of his passing.
Dave is survived by his wife Nancy; son Tim and his wife Kiti; and grandchildren Charlotte and Kael.
