RICHARD WAYNE LEE SR.

1938 - 2026

Richard Lee was promoted to heaven on September 9th, 2026 in Leander Texas.

Rich was born October 15th, 1938 to Floyd and Alma Lee in Encinitas California, graduating from San Dieguito High School in 1956 where he continued lifelong relationships with the “Merman 5”.

He served honorably with United States Army and  enjoyed a long career in the space industry working for General Dynamics and Lockheed, eventually retiring from Government Civil Service.

Rich was married to the love of his life Suzie for 54 years. They raised their family in Lompoc and San Jose retiring in Santa Maria California.

Rich is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Alma Lee, his brother Floyd Jr.(Sonny) and his wife Suzie.

Rich was blessed to find love again and was married to his love Cathy Scott for the past five years before his promotion to heaven.

He was also a diehard, lifetime LA Rams fan! However, none of these anecdotes truly capture the man, husband, father, grandfather, friend, and godly Christian man he was consistently throughout his life. His faith and his life were inseparable.

Rich was kind, humble of heart, easygoing, and served our Lord Jesus Christ and his family sacrificially. His humble Christlike character influenced and impacted countless lives for the kingdom of God.

Simply said, Rich was a good and faithful servant, who has certainly heard the words of our Lord and Savior “well done, enter into the joy of your master”

He is survived by his three children, Pamela Schmidt (Mike), Brenda Southall (Steve) and Richard Lee Jr. (Stephanie) as well as four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Rich’s family will be honoring him with a private celebration of life service in Santa Maria Ca.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing”
