MICHAEL J. WALKER

MICHAEL J. WALKER
1960 - 2026
Michael J. Walker, affectionately known as Mike,
was the beloved son of Leonard and Sandra Walker of Bakersfield, California.
Mike graduated from Morro Bay High School and began his career in construction while still in high school, working alongside his father as a finish carpenter. His talent and craftsmanship took him across the country, where he spent many years building wooden roller coasters throughout the United States. For more than 30 years, Mike worked as a Construction Superintendent on the Central Coast. He took great pride in his work, had a natural ability to connect with clients,
and earned the respect and admiration of those he worked with throughout his career.
Mike found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time in his backyard, tending to his garden, tinkering in his garage, and building just about anything. He enjoyed barbecuing for his family, playing with their dog Ruby, listening to country, blues, and rock and roll music, camping along the beautiful Central Coast, and simply being surrounded by the people and animals he loved.
Above all, Mike was a family man. His love for his family was evident and the time he spent with them, the things he did with them, and the memories they shared.
Mike is survived by his wife, Julie Walker; his son Andrew Walker and daughter-in-law Karen, and granddaughters, Ariana and Tahlia; his son Daniel Walker; and his stepson Brent Hainsworth, Brent’s partner Amy Wallace, and granddaughter Mara Hainsworth.
Mike will be remembered for his quick wit, his skilled hands, his generous spirit, and the love he had for his family and friends. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, the many things he built with his hands, and the countless lives he touched with his heart.
